Last night, July 31, 2013, the State of Texas executed Douglas Feldman for the 1998 road-rage slayings of truck drivers Nicholas Velasquez, 62, and Robert Everett, 36, in two separate incidents. A graduate of Southern Methodist University and former financial analyst, Feldman was convicted in Dallas County. Read more about the case from CBS News/the Associated Press.
This was the 11th execution in Texas to date this year, out of 22 nationwide. Feldman was the second person convicted in Dallas County to be executed in 2013; Dallas County accounts for 52 executions since 1982.
