Momentum clearly has shifted in the direction of abolition. Earlier this year Illinois abolished the death penalty and multiple state legislatures seriously considered repeal legislation. Efforts here in Texas also are focused on creating change at the legislature and on shifting public opinion. Progress has been most evident in terms of new death sentences, which have dropped more than 60% in the last six years!

TCADP is the only statewide, grassroots membership organization that is working exclusively to end the death penalty in Texas.
