Last Minute Appeal for Additional DNA Testing on Behalf of Hank Skinner

As the March 24, 2010 execution date for Hank Skinner approaches, Skinner’s defense team has made a last minute appeal for additional DNA testing of forensic evidence found at the scene of the 1993 Pampa, TX murders. Rob Owen, of the University of Texas Capital Punishment Center and Skinner’s lead attorney, has asked the high court to review the civil rights implications of prohibited DNA testing while requesting the additional testing of items like knives and fingernail clippings found at the scene of the crime.
