We Texas Abolitionists launch this blog on the heels of the NCADP 2005 Conference held here in the belly of the death peanlty beast. As the U.S. is fast approaching the 1000th execution since the resumption of state sanctioned killings in 1977, we in Texas want to be strategic in our use of every available tool for the purposes of educating our neighbors about imperfections and inhumanity of the death penalty system in our state.
Our cry for justice will be heard at the gates of the Walls Unit, in the halls of state and local governments, in our houses of worship, in our children’s schools, and in all the major sites along the Information Superway Highway.
