TEXAS:

Man Loses Appeal Of His Conviction, Death Sentence

A Corpus Christi man on death row for the 1995 murder of a 5-year-old
boy has lost his appeal of his conviction and death sentence.

A federal appeals court in New Orleans rejected Larry Hatten's claim that
one of the jurors in his trail was biased against him.

He also claimed he was shackled improperly during his trial.

Hatten was convicted of killing little Isaac Jackson in September 1995.
The boy was shot while he was in bed with his mother.

The boy's mother, Tabitha Thompson, survived despite being shot 4 times.
Prosecutors said Hatten broke into the apartment in search of the boy's
father.

It was all the result of a fight between drug dealers.
